Box Hill is a well-known Surrey walk in the North Downs, with a mix of chalk downland, woodland and open viewpoints. There are waymarked routes around the site, so it can suit anything from a shorter outing to a longer explore depending on the path you choose.
For dog owners, livestock may be present, so please follow local signs and keep dogs close where needed. There are no stiles currently noted, which may make the walk easier to manage for some dogs and handlers.
Toilets and a café are available on site, and the Old Fort area is a recognised starting point for walks here. Ground conditions and gradients can vary around Box Hill, so sensible footwear is worth having, especially if you plan to venture onto steeper or more uneven sections.
