Dog Considerations:
- Leads: Abbey Fields is very popular with dog walkers. Off-lead exercise is common in the open grassy areas, provided dogs are well-behaved and under control. Dogs should be on leads near the children's play area, the lake (to protect waterfowl), and in busier sections. Dogs on leads are permitted within the outer grounds/bailey of Kenilworth Castle (English Heritage site) but typically not within the ticketed keep or the Elizabethan Garden itself (assistance dogs excepted). Always check the current English Heritage dog policy.
- Water: Finham Brook flows through the park and the lake provides water, but assess cleanliness. Best to carry fresh water.
- Wildlife: Ducks, swans, and other waterfowl on the lake. Squirrels in the trees.
- Dog Bins: Plentifully available throughout Abbey Fields.
- Hazards: The lake and brook (keep an eye on dogs near water). Can be busy with families and other dogs.
