Terrain: A wonderfully varied and generally flat landscape. Expect a mix of wide, well-maintained tarmac and compacted gravel paths, mown grassy tracks through meadows, and some narrower, more natural earth paths through woodlands and wetlands. The park is generally flat, with very gentle gradients. Paths can become muddy and puddly in parts, particularly after rain or in wetter seasons. Sturdy, comfortable walking shoes are recommended, and waterproof footwear is advisable if exploring off the main routes.
Accessibility: Sandwell Valley Country Park is committed to accessibility. Many of its main paths are wide, flat, and well-surfaced (tarmac or rolled gravel), making them suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs, and less mobile walkers. There are no stiles, kissing gates, or barriers on these main trails. Some 'natural' paths, however, can be uneven and muddy, making them less accessible. Accessible toilets and a Changing Places toilet are available at visitor hubs.

Dog-Friendliness: Sandwell Valley Country Park is an absolutely fantastic and incredibly popular destination for dog walkers, offering a superb blend of open spaces, woodlands, and lakeside walks right on the edge of the urban environment! Dogs are welcome throughout much of the park. Well-behaved dogs can be off-lead in appropriate areas, but dogs MUST be kept on a lead on designated paths, near sensitive wildlife areas, and around visitor attractions like the farms. Always ensure your dog is under control.
