This walk features a huge variety of surfaces. The Daymer Bay side involves sandy beach walking and sandy paths through the dune grass. The Padstow side includes paved harbour streets, a well-trodden dirt coast path, and rural farm tracks for the inland return.

- The Beaches: Daymer Bay is famously dog-friendly all year round. On the Padstow side, Harbour Cove is also a fantastic year-round dog beach. However, note that St George's Cove does have a seasonal dog ban in the summer months.

The Ferry: The Black Tor passenger ferry between Rock and Padstow is incredibly dog-friendly (well-behaved dogs are usually welcome for a small fee).

Golf Course Warning: When walking near St Enodoc Church, you are walking straight through an active golf course. It is essential to keep your dog strictly on a lead here to avoid flying golf balls and disrupting play.
