Expect a very comfortable walk underfoot. The route consists mostly of well-paved town streets, harbour-side pavements, and the brilliantly surfaced, flat, compacted gravel of the Camel Trail. The coastal path section heading north can occasionally gather a few muddy puddles after heavy Cornish rain, but generally, this route is easily tackled in a sturdy pair of trainers or comfortable walking shoes year-round. There is one gentle climb as you head inland through the town, but the rest is beautifully flat.
