A circular dog friendly walk around Chorlton Water Park. Chorlton Water Park is a Local Nature Reserve comprising a lake surrounded by grasslands and woodlands. It stands on the site of Barlow Hall Farm. During the construction of the M60 motorway in the 1970s, gravel was excavated from the site. The gravel pit was subsequently flooded creating a lake that is central to the Water Park today.

 

How to get there

From Manchester, take the Princess Road A5103. You will see a brown sign pointing toward 'Chorlton Water Park Local Nature Reserve, which you should follow.

 

Walk

1 Pass through the metal gate at the opposite end of the car park to where you drive in. Follow the path to the left of the grass area. Then turn left. Follow the circular path keeping the lake close to your right at all times.
