Paths are a mix of well-surfaced tracks (compacted stone/gravel, some tarmac near the car park/cafe), particularly on lower routes, and earthier, steeper, and sometimes rocky/rooty paths leading up to and around the summit. The ascent to the war memorial at the top is moderately strenuous. Can be muddy on unsurfaced paths after rain.

Dog Considerations:
- Leads: Tandle Hill is very popular with dog walkers. There are extensive areas of woodland and open grassland/heath on the hill where off-lead exercise is common, provided dogs are kept under good control, responsive to recall, and do not cause a nuisance to other park users or disturb wildlife. Dogs should be on leads near the car park, cafe, children's play areas, and when paths are very busy or narrow.
- Water: Some small streams or boggy areas may be present in woodland sections, but their quality is variable. Carry fresh water for your dog, especially if undertaking the climb to the summit. A water bowl may be outside the cafe.
- Wildlife: The park has mixed woodland supporting birds and squirrels. The more open areas have heathland characteristics. Ensure dogs do not chase wildlife.
- Dog Bins: Usually well-provided, especially around the main car park, cafe, and along popular lower paths.
- Hazards: Steep slopes, particularly on the paths to the summit and around the old quarry areas. Uneven and rocky paths. Can be very windy and exposed on the summit. Popular with families.
