Walk
1. From the car park, turn left to take the road past the Crown Inn and the church. Turn right at the road junction and then take the first left, after the Black Bull. Follow this road ad it heads uphill, turning more into a stone track. Continue to follow this track uphill. As it opens out a bit, take the left hand fork to continue uphill. You will see a row of terraced cottages across the wooden bridge to your right. Continue on until you reach the YHA Coniston Coppermines, and viewpoint with information boards. If you walk just behind this, you will find the Copper Heart Stone and working Waterwheel.
2. Once you are ready to return, head back down the route you came, and eventually back into the village of Coniston, where you can enjoy a well earned rest at one of the dog friendly establishments in the village, such as the Herdwicks Cafe.
