Circular walk
A circular walk at Llyn Crafnant. Llyn Crafnant is a reservoir which lies in a valley in Wales, where the northern edge of the Gwydir Forest meets the lower slopes of the Carneddau mountains. The lake is three quarters of a mile long, and at the head of Llyn Crafnant you will find one of the finest views in North Wales, across the lake to the mountains above. Walk
1 From the car park, turn right onto the road and walk down it, with the river being on your right. Just before you reach the reservoir, turn right. Head through the gate and continue on the path. After a while, you will reach a fork, where you should take the descending left path, keeping with the reservoir. After a while further, you will leave the reservoir behind you, remaining on the path.
2 Remain on the path, ignoring one going off uphill to the right. Pass through a gate and then another a while further on. Follow the path as it bends to the right, then cross over a small wooden bridge. Turn left and continue onward, crossing another bridge on the other side. Head straight on this path, by an house entrance.
3 Head through a gate to your left and onto a road. Remain on the road and you will find the reservoir on your left. Soon after, you will pass by Llyn Crafnant Lakeside Cafe where you can take a break. Remain on the road until you are back at the car park.
