How to get there: From the A3, take the A333 signposted to Hindhead (Devil's Punch Bowl). At the traffic lights, carry on straight ahead. The car park is on the left-hand side.

The Walk

A walk at Hindhead, crossing the old A3 and taking in some spectacular views.

Walk

1 Follow the signs toward the old A3 road. Follow the route, heading north. You will pass the Sailor's Stone and have views across the Punch Bowl. Continue down the path. You will reach a steep path on your right, leading to Gibbet Hill. Following this, head down the marked path on your right.

2 Continue on the path, passing a pond to your right. Head up the path and through the gate, before progressing up the hill. When you reach the track, head down it until you reach a house on your left. Turn right through the gate and then follow the signs.

3 Head up over the heathland, keeping to the left path when it forks. In a little while, head through a gate and across the old London Road to follow the route back to the car park.
