Runswick Bay

Leads: Essential in the narrow, winding village lanes due to limited space. On the beach, dogs can often enjoy off-lead freedom. **Crucially, dogs MUST be on a short lead and under very close control on the clifftop paths (Cleveland Way) due to precipitous, unfenced drops.**
Water: The sea for paddling! Carry fresh water for drinking, especially after the steep climb back up to the car park.
Wildlife: Seabirds. Keep dogs from disturbing wildlife.
Dog Bins: Usually available near the beach access in the lower village and in the car park area at the top.
Hazards: Very steep cliffs (unfenced on paths), steep village paths, incoming tide on the beach. Not suitable for dogs with poor recall near cliffs.
